Educational Programs

The Chadds Ford Historical Society is committed to providing quality education programs to its members and the public. School and adult programming utilizes the 1714 Barns-Brinton House, the c. 1725 John Chads House, and the Springhouse, as well as the Barn Visitors Center. Guides in colonial garb conduct tours of the houses and lead groups in hands-on, interactive activities. Choose a demonstration of early skills such as open hearth cooking, bread baking, spinning, weaving, needlework, etc.

These houses are open for walk-in visits on summer weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day between 1 and 5 pm.

In addition to large group tours, the Historical Society offers private and small group tours of the historic buildings starting at $20 for one house (for the first 4 visitors). Contact the office for more information: 610-388-7376 or Education@chaddsfordhistory.org.
